I have recently been trying this new foundation from Max Factor called Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation and Serum. As the name suggests it is a foundation which also contains a serum, so as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles it also protects the skin against signs of ageing. It has a built in Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15.
Max Factor claims that the foundation will help to even your skin tone because it does not clog in fine lines and wrinkles, reflects light to reduce the look of uneven skin tone and will fill and smooth skin surfaces. The Elixir will help protect your skin as it is moisturising, contains anti-oxidants and protects your skin from the sun with the built in SPF 15. These are great claims.
The foundation comes in six different shades so you are bound to find one to suit your skin tone. The shades go from Light Ivory all the way to Bronze. A hint for selecting the shade of foundation you need is to look at the shade of your chest. A lot of people try foundation on their hands but the shade of your chest is a better indication of the correct shade.
So how did I find the product? It comes in a plastic bottle which has a pump to dispense the foundation. This makes application easy as you only need to squirt out the amount you want to use. When I first applied it I was impressed at how light it felt on my skin, I barely noticed it was there. It still provided good coverage though and gave my face a nice even skin tone. I also found that it lasted well for most of the day which was good.
I have very dry skin and can have problems when I change to using a new foundation, it can dry my skin out. I had no problems at all with this foundation. Being an older woman I like the idea of a foundation that helps protect against the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, I need all the help I can get to fight back time! I would definitely get this product again.
RRP £12.99
