In my house I always seem to have loads of washing. Sometimes I feel it is a bit like that fairy tale “The Magic Porridge Pot”, no sooner have I done one load more appears. It is a never ending task and I am always on the look out for new laundry detergents. I was really pleased when Ecover sent me their Bio Concentrated Laundy Liquid to review. The great thing about Ecover is that it is kind to sensitive skin while being good to the environment. It is also concentrated so you do not need to use as much of the liquid to get the same results.

The liquid has a slight yellowish tinge and a really nice smell. I am not sure exactly what the smell is, it has hints of flowers on a sunny day.  If you live in a soft water area you just need to add one cap of the liquid to your wash (an extra half a cap for a hard water area) and set the washing machine going.  I was really pleased with the results, it got my laundry clean even in a low temperature wash.

It is good to know that by using this I am also doing my bit for the environment. The fact that the liquid is concentrated means that the bottle is smaller than the normal 1.5 l containers for laundry detergent. This is good in two ways, more bottles can fit on one lorry reducing fuel usage and there is less packaging to recycle later. It still does the same amount of washes as the non-concentrated liquids.  The liquid itself is made from plant based ingredients and is fully biodegradable. It has no impact of aquatic life so you can be sure that you are not adding anything harmful into our rivers.

I was quite happy using this laundry liquid, it gave good results and my washing smelt nice. I have often found in the past that changing laundry products  can cause skin irritations and itchiness.  There were none of these problems with this product. I have often found that Eco products do not work as well as non-green products, but in this case it was simply not true.
