Symply Dog Food Review

June 21, 2012

If you regularly read this blog you will know that I have a dog called Eddie and he is a King Charles Spaniel. Occasionally he is given the chance to review doggy things and recently he got the chance to try Symply Dog Food from Pets Corner.

King Charles Spaniel

This is Eddie, he is just over a year old now and a very inquisitive dog. He loves to know what is going on around him and will often lie looking out the window watching to see what is going on. He is also very playful and gets into no end of mischief. He can sometimes be a bit fussy about his food, if he does not like it he will turn up his nose and not eat it so I have to be a bit careful about what I get for him to eat.

Symply Dog Food is a dried complete dog food. It uses 100% natural ingredients and contains no artificial colourings, flavours or preservaties and also has a high meat content. So far it sounded good.

Symply dog foodWhen the bag arrived it was a 12 kg bag which was much bigger than my dog. It is also available in 2 kg and 6 kg bags. I had to show this picture of him and the bag, even though it is a little blurry as he dashed into the picture. It shows that he was anticipating the meal.

As with any new dog food I introduced the food to him slowly, mixing it with his normal dog food to start with and then gradually replacing it so he was eating only Symply dog food. He actually seemed to prefer the Symply dog food, he ate this before he ate the other dog food and often left bits of the other food when he was being fussy.  He now seems to look forward to his meals and the plate is usually cleaned so it seems that he likes Symply dog food a lot.

As well as having all natural ingredients Symply dog food contains a high level of Omega 3 to keep the dogs skin and coat heathy and has been formulated for a healthy digestive system so there should be no digestive upsets. I did not notice any problems with the dogs digestion at all, sometimes when I have changed his food in the past it has caused problems.

The food I was sent for my dog was Symply Adult Dog Turkey and Rice but it comes in a variety of different flavours. You can also get different foods for different sizes of dogs, from puppies to adult to large breed dogs so there will be something available for your dog. Prices start at £9.99 for the 2kg bags and go up to around £42 for the 12 kg bags. The exact price depends on the type of food you get.

Disclosure: I was sent some dog food for the purposes of this review but I was not told what to say. Obviously I did not try the dog food but my dog did and the opinions are my own and my dogs.
