Pork Chops Supreme

A delicious and simple pork chops recipe. Bread crumb covered chops are cooked in a tomato sauce in the oven for a melt in the mouth dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 - 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 C Gas Mark 4
  • Dip pork chops which have been salted and peppered into beaten egg.
  • Roll in crumbs.
  • Brown quickly in hot fat
  • Put the chops into an oven proof dish
  • To make the sauce put the tomato juice, brown sugar and vinegar in a pan
  • Bring to the boil stirring all the time.
  • Boil for three minutes
  • Pour the sauce over the chops
  • Put in the oven for an hour.

Notes

Serve with mash and vegetables for a filling dinner
