Barbecue Beer Braised Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 racks ribs
  • 375 ml ale
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 113 g tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Place the ribs into a large dish
  • Peel the onion and garlic and grate.
  • Mix the grated onion and garlic with the beer, Worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika and hot pepper sauce and pour the mixture over the ribs.
  • Leave to marinade for around four hours or overnight
  • Preheat the oven to 160C
  • Remove the ribs from the marinade, pat dry and place on a baking tray.
  • Bake for an hour and a half
  • Pour the leftover marinade into a pan and combine with the other ingredients
  • Bring to the boil and simmer until it has reduced by half.
  • Pour the glaze over the ribs, making sure they are well coated and cook until tender, around another half an hour.
