Indonesian Pancakes: Kue Dadar Gulung


  • 1 tsp Pandan aroma
  • 120 g flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 350 ml coconut milk
  • 125 g grated coconut
  • 100 g brown sugar


  • To make the pancakes
  • Mix together 250ml coconut milk, the flour, egg, salt and pandan aroma. If needed you can also add 100 ml water
  • Leave to settle for 15 minutes.
  • To make the filling
  • Heat up 100ml coconut milk, the sugar and a pinch of salt.
  • Stir until it the mixture goes brown
  • Stir in the coconut
  • In a frying pan heat some oil and make the pancakes until all the batter is used. You may need a spatula to spread them out. Flip halfway though cooking so both sides are cooked
  • Place 1 tbsp of filling on each pancake then roll them up
