Cherry Shortbread
A buttery shortbread recipe filled with cherries that is ideal for serving with a cup of tea

- 350 g plain flour
- pinch salt
- 225 g butter
- 100 g caster sugar
- 125 g glace cherries
Preheat the oven to 17OC, 325F, Gas Mark 3
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl
Rub the butter into the flour and then add the sugar
Keep kneading until you get a dough, add the cherries and mix well though the mixture.
Roll out and cut into shapes. Place on a greased baking tray
Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, until golden
