Cherry Shortbread

A buttery shortbread recipe filled with cherries that is ideal for serving with a cup of tea

Ingredients

  • 350 g plain flour
  • pinch salt
  • 225 g butter
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 125 g glace cherries

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 17OC, 325F, Gas Mark 3
  • Sift the flour and salt into a bowl
  • Rub the butter into the flour and then add the sugar
  • Keep kneading until you get a dough, add the cherries and mix well though the mixture.
  • Roll out and cut into shapes. Place on a greased baking tray
  • Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, until golden
