Preheat the oven to 200C, Gas Mark 6
Roll out the pastry and place on a baking sheet covered with baking parchment.
Score the pastry with a criss cross pattern
Bake for 15 minutes
Peel and chop the onions
Heat the oil in a pan and cook the onions for 10-15 minutes until soft and beginning to caramelise.
Add the vinegar and mustard and simmer for a minute. Set aside
Slice the apple across the middle into circles, removing any seeds
Push down the middle of the pastry and spread the onion mixture on top
Add the apples, dollops of chutney and grate the cheese over the top
Place back in the oven for 25 minutes until the apple is soft and the cheese bubbling.
Serve warm or cold
