Home Made Valentine’s Chocolate Hearts
Today is Valentine’s day. Hopefully you woke up to a nice surprise from your loved one. Flowers, chocolates or breakfast in bed. Maybe you are planning a nice meal later over a bottle of wine. My son was all excited this morning, he had a shower last night so he would smell nice for the girls at school. This morning he had another one. Hopefully he will get a nice surprise when he is at school.
Last night I had an idea for some quick and simple home made Valentine’s chocolate hearts. I had bought a heart shaped chocolate mould the other day and thought I had better make use of it. If you have forgotten Valentine’s day you could easily make these as a special treat for your loved one. They are really easy and quick to make, but look like you have spent ages in the kitchen.
You could also use them as a decoration on top of a cake or a trifle to add a special touch to your Valentine’s dessert. All you need is a couple of bars of chocolate which you melt down over a pan of boiling water. For a touch of flavour I added some orange zest and then poured into the moulds. I had some sugar heart decorations which I added to the top. I was really pleased with the result and my husband loved them this morning. What are you doing for Valentine’s day?
