Pork Chops Supreme
Pork chops supreme are perfect for a super easy dinner. After a little preparation just leave to cook slowly in the oven for a delicious meal.
Every family has recipes that are go to recipes. A recipe that has stood the test of time and has been in the family for a couple of generations. These are recipes you turn to when you are looking to make a delicious dinner but don’t want to try something new.
Pork chops supreme is one of those recipes. My mum would make it for us when we were kids. I now make the recipe for my family. When I make it I know that the plates will always be empty.
Pork chops supreme
Pork chops supreme is a really easy recipe to make. You need to do a little preparation.
Pan sear the pork chops which have a covering of breadcrumbs. Put into an oven proof dish, pour over the tomato sauce and leave to cook slowly in the oven for a delicious meal.
The chops and sauce can be made in advance and you can just pop them in the oven whenever you want. An hour later you will have melt in the mouth chops in a delicious sauce.
Instead of the oven you can also use a slow cooker. Pop the chops into the slow cooker in the morning and when you come home dinner is ready. Preparing the chops and sauce will take about fifteen minutes.
How to make pork chops supreme
First, the pork chops need to be covered in a layer of breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes. Just use whatever is handy. I usually make the breadcrumbs in my food processor. Four slices of bread is usually enough. Breadcrumbs do freeze well so don’t worry about making too much. You can use them later to make stuffing or make this recipe again.
Now you need to put the breadcrumbs on the pork chops. Season the chops with salt and pepper and then dip them into beaten egg. Make sure each side gets a thin coating. Heat some oil in a pan and add the chops. Cook on both sides until brown and put into an oven proof dish.
Finally, make the sauce. Just put the tomato juice, brown sugar and vinegar into a pan and bring to the boil. Once it starts boiling turn off the heat and pour over the chops. Pop the chops into the oven for an hour.
When ready serve with mash and some vegetables for a delicious and filling dinner.
When choosing the pork chops try and find a lean cut without much bone. The bones will be hidden by the crumb coating. It makes it easier to eat if there is not much bone on the chop. Before cooking the chops it is a good idea to remove any excess fat from the edge. Lean pork chops are high in protein and zinc so make a healthy meal.

Your recipe looks really good. I shall have to give it a try sometime. Breadcrumbs do go well with pork. I have a recipe for Breaded Pork Meatballs on my blog.
And I usually drizzle barbecue sauce over my pork chops before cooking.
