What’s Missing From Your Living Room?
Your living room should be a lovely place to be! It needs to be cosy and comfortable, with plenty of soft furnishings and amenities that make it a fun room to be in – that’s all obvious. But sometimes your living room can be missing a touch or two. It can be missing some of that character that makes it such a central room in the home. And when you notice that, you’ll never stop noticing it! So you’ll need a tip or two on your side to make your living room feel more ‘lived in’; here are a few of the common elements that might be missing.
A Personal Touch
How much character does your living room have? How many cute nick-nacks do you have around the shelves and on the coffee table? And does the room feel cluttered at all? Because if not, it’s not necessarily a good thing. Sometimes we need those personal touches to feel truly at home, and it’s not a mess if you like the way it looks!
Maybe it’s time to invest in some antique items to leave around? A vase on the mantelpiece, a fake set of roses on the book shelf, old picture frames to keep your favourite photos in, etc. Head down to the local charity or vintage shop and see what you can find.
A Chic Touch
Your living room looks pretty good; you like the colours, you like the style, and you’ve spent a lot of time putting it together. However, there’s still a little stylistic touch missing: a sprinkle of chic and luxury. And how do you set this to rights? All you need to do is invest in a few decor elements that come with a sophisticated reputation.
So, why not place a couple of candles around? Use some string lights to your advantage when hanging up artwork on the walls. Or, if you’re inclined to upgrade some of your more major furnishings in the future, you can also look into Luxury Sofas to replace that thready three seater you’ve got right now.
A Spacious Touch
How much space do you have to work with? Is the way your living room is set out preventing you from moving through it without trouble? Are you constantly tripping over things on the floor, or catching yourself on corners? Then it’s time to rethink the layout and give your living room more of a spacious touch.
Push the sofas back, angle the armchair more, hang the TV on the wall to give yourself more shelf space – these are all little ways to create a bigger room to work with. Even if you’re not knocking through a wall, you’ve got more horizontal and vertical space to make good use of. It’ll certainly help make the living room look more put together!
Your living room is missing a couple of things, but there’s an easy remedy to this. Keep these tips in mind and see how they fit.
