Why Use a Christmas Gift Planner?
Planning for Christmas can be a bit overwhelming. My secret weapon in Christmas planning is to make lists. Lots and lots of lists. I have lists with Christmas dinner timings, lists of what to buy for all the meals and lists with gifts for the family. This way I can ensure everything gets done.

I have a very large family. If we ever all went on holiday together we would need a double-decker bus! When it comes to Christmas gifts I need to ensure that we get something for everyone.
To help me do this I have created some printable Christmas gift lists. These help me reduce stress, wondering if I have remembered everyone. I can easily see who I need to buy for, what I have bought and when it is wrapped. They also help me budget as I can see if I am likely to overspend.
Just print out the checklists and start jotting down your gift ideas. It’s that simple! These planners are free, just download them and make a start.
Features of Our Printable Christmas Gift Planner
In total, there are three planner pages. The first two pages are Christmas gift lists. The planner has two festive backgrounds that will make your gift planning even more enjoyable.
- A festive orange and cinnamon spice background
- A mistletoe branch background

Just print out the one you like the best. The planner is divided into five columns:
- Gift Recipients: A section to list the names of family members, friends and anyone you plan to give gifts to.
- Purchased Gifts: A checklist to mark off the items when they have been bought and when they have been wrapped.
- Gift Ideas: A space to jot down gift ideas for each recipient
- Budget Tracking: A column to record the price of each gift
This makes it easy to see at a glance how many gifts you still need to get.
Budget-Friendly Gift List
The second design in the Christmas gift list features a bigger section to list different gift ideas for each person. This gives you a good way to track at a glance what you have bought each person and the cost.
You could also use this page to brainstorm gift ideas and prices and choose the gifts that best fit your budget. You can add your budget amount at the top to keep you on track.

Tips For Effective Gift Planning
It can be really hard to think of gifts for everyone. These are some of my top tips:
- Start Early: Begin planning well before the holiday rush. One day I will manage to do this! If you are disorganised then make sure you know the last posting dates if you need to send gifts by post.
- Be Thoughtful: Think about what the person likes and their interests are. It is pointless getting someone a book if they never read it.
- Include Non-Material Gifts: How about treating the person to a homemade biscuit or sweet treat such as fudge? These days you can also gift experiences, maybe they would like a day driving a supercar or afternoon tea at a hotel. Think outside the box. How about home-made chocolate hearts for a loved one.
- Stay Within Budget: Stick to the allocated budget for each person.
